Delivering better urban places is becoming even more critical in these changing times. The past decade has seen evolving demands from consumers and local authorities, but has development in New Zealand been able to succeed in making better places?
Urban Design Forum has assembled some of New Zealand’s leading developers to share their experiences in trying to deliver higher quality urban design. With Government reviewing their instruments – amendments to Resource Management Act, Building Act, local government reform, urban taskforce – it is timely to understand what helped and hindered better urban form. Auckland Central MP Nikki Kaye will also share some of the government’s vision and programme for future urban development.
