Urban Interior is a book located at the threshold between the interior, habitually conceived as the private realm, and the urban, or what is generally recognized to be the public realm. The creative projects in this book aim to overcome the traditional dualism between these domains with projects that focus on the spatial and temporal dimensions of the inhabited, urban environment.

With a prelude by Rochus Urban Hinkel, RMIT University and an intermezzo by Jane Rendell, Director of Architectural Research at the Bartlett, UCL, London.
Individual chapters include contributions by: Mathias Heyden, TU Berlin and ISPARA / Scott McQuire, University of Melbourne / Jane Rendell, Bartlett, UCL London / Alex Schweder La, SCI Arc, Los Angeles / and the Urban Interior Research Group: Suzie Attiwill, Kate Church, Mick Douglas, Rochus Urban Hinkel, Marieluise Jonas, Malte Wagenfeld, all School of Architecture and Design, RMIT University and Design Research Institute (DRI), Melbourne.
