AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE FOR BUILT ENVIRONMENT PROFESSIONALS.

Architects Without Frontiers and the Australian Red Cross have been developing this training course with the aim of introducing built environment professionals to the humanitarian sector and identifying pathways for future work experience in development and post-disaster scenarios.

This two day course is aimed broadly at built environment professionals (architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers, construction managers) wanting to become involved in future projects in the humanitarian sector. The course will be led by practitioners from Australian relief agencies and will detail ‘real world’ projects in order to understand the distinct phases of humanitarian response and approaches to effectively working in this setting.

The course has approval from the Australian Institute of Architects and is part of their Continuing Professional Development program Refuel.

The first course is being offered in Melbourne on the 13th and 14th of October this year. Applications are due on the 24th of September.

$950 for the two day course.
