As fires once again threaten homes, communities and lives in the Australian summer, this seminar examines the process of rebuilding after the devastating 2009 Victorian bushfires. Homes, schools and community centres have since been rebuilt and new Bushfire Building Regulations introduced.
Amongst the initiatives from this period were pro-bono architectural services, design responses for emergency and transitionary accommodation and collaborative community approaches that resulted in a nationally award winning building. In this seminar you will hear from architect, consultant and client perspectives on the rebuilding response in affected communities.
