Looks like something worth seeing at Federation Square, Melbourne. A giant sun is hovering there for a while, and you don’t need to look at it through funny glasses. Probably best to see it at night, unlike the real thing.
Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Solar Equation is there to see until July 4th. Rafael has been created some interesting projects before, I quite like 1000 platitudes , a 2003 guerilla project:
a video with 1,000 words or expressions commonly used to promote globalised cities to potential investors, such as “open”, “modern”, “clean”, “multicultural” and “cosmopolitan”.
It was projected onto buildings at various locations around Linz, Austria, before the cops showed up.
