The ABC’s website just announced that The National Portrait Gallery won the top gong in the ACT architecture awards. You’d think from this that the building designed itself. Johnson Pilton Walker don’t even rate a mention in the article. So I’m mentioning them here.
By the way, ACT chapter president David Flannery says, “the jury was very impressed with the great strength and modesty of the building.”
Photos are on the JPW website. A stern copyright notice prevents my sharing them with the world.
Later… The Oz has just published an article which is slightly improved from the ABC effort, the architects get a mention on paragraph eight.
