Urban Omnibus is an online project of the Architectural League to create a new kind of conversation about design and New York City. We commission, gather and deliver the insights of journalists, architects, planners, designers, artists, activists, scholars and citizens.
I know some people who dead keen on this mag and pay heaps to get it air-freighted – now you can view the current issue after registering for free. What they say: “Modernism is a quarterly magazine about 20th-century modernist design. We range from the Wiener Werkstätte to the Bauhaus to Memphis and beyond, covering Art Deco, midcentury, pop and postmodern design.”
Online only. A bit quiet for the last two years, but still containing a large pile of profiles of architects.

Great site and newsletter, but this lot too have a problem with people linking to them. So we won’t. You could try typing in metropolismag.com though.

American site into things modern and young. Not much print content but they do have podcasts, videos and a blog to make up for it.
Consistentlt interesting since its beginnings in 2000, Architecture Week has building profiles, lively forums and lots more to ponder.
A good new architecture mag from the States, that tries not to go for obvious content (so starchitects are thin on the ground). Much quality content on their website.
